Texas Creative Problem Solving Organization, Inc. dba Texas DI was organized in 1999 as a non-profit organization to promote creative problem solving competitions in Texas. Each year the TXCPSO Executive Board selects the creative problem solving program best suited to the needs of Texas students. Since 1999, the board has selected Destination ImagiNation.

Texas DI is governed by an Affiliate Director and two boards:  the Regional Director Advisory Board and the Executive Board.  The RDAB membership consists of regional directors from each region and meets 3 times a year:  just prior to the beginning of each school year, in January, and the day following the Affiliate Tournament.  The primary focus of the RDAB is the organization of the Affiliate tournament.

The Executive Board is made up of the Affiliate Director, President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Training Coordinator, 6 RDs and 3 appointed members.  The 6 RDs are elected by the RDAB for three year terms and the appointed members are appointed by the Affiliate Director each year.  The Executive Board officers are elected by the Executive Board members annually.  The EB is charged with conducting the business of TXCPSO and overseeing its financial affairs.

Texas DI is operated by an Executive Board with input from a Regional Advisory Board consisting of Regional Directors from each Region.  Texas DI is organized into 16 regions.  Each region has a regional board. The make-up of each regional board is determined by the needs of each specific region, but most consist at minimum of one or more Regional Directors, Treasurer, Secretary and Parliamentarian.  Additional board seats may consist of members-at-large, school district representatives, a Tournament Director and various committee chairs.  The primary focus of most regions is to provide training to team managers and teams and to organize and put on a regional tournament.

Each year, over two thousand (2000) Texas creative problem solving teams compete throughout the state.
