The mission of Texas Destination Imagination is to encourage and foster the development of 21st century skills: creativity, problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration; to influence development of a positive self-image; and to prepare the students of Texas to apply problem solving skills to life decisions.

Texas Destination Imagination is a problem solving educational organization that strives to promote creativity in the young people of Texas – reaching more than 19,000 students a year. “DI” is an extraordinary non-profit organization that provides educational programs for students to learn and experience creativity, teamwork and more than 100,000 students across the U.S... and in more than 30 countries. The DI core program is educationally based in which student teams solve open-ended Challenges through the use of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and fine arts. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work together and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the Challenges.

DI Supports Learning During the Pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has created many educational challenges. Parents question whether to allow their students to go back to the classroom but struggle with how to supervise virtual learning after returning to work. DI provides a way for students to learn in either setting – teams meeting in person or virtually. DI has risen to the challenge despite many variables in the educational landscape to provide a challenging season that meets the needs of all learners.
